Bromley Little Theatre returns to the Festival Theatre with Ayckbourn’s hilarious award winning comedy ‘A Chorus of Disapproval’.

It is the cautionary tale of Guy, a man who can’t say no to wine, women or song, and of his consequent rise and fall in the world of amateur operatics. Guy advances from a ‘one line’ role to become a ‘leading light’ manoeuvring his way precariously through a maze of erotic propositions, dodgy deals and pub brawls – all mirrored in John Gay’s ‘The Beggars Opera’ which the local operatic group is rehearsing. Humour, pathos, laughter, tears, music, song and great costumes. Again the comic genius of Ayckbourn triumphs!

On the play

“…a magnificent comedy: symmetrically shaped, psychologically acute and painfully, heartbreakingly funny.” Michael Billington, The Guardian.
