We are delighted to welcome back by popular demand, Opera Brava with Rossini’s Barber of Seville.

Bribery, deception and disguise. Figaro needs all his wiles to help the Count outwit Dr Bartolo and ensure true love wins the day. Rossini’s perfectly honed treasure survived a famously disastrous opening night (caused mainly by factions and local politics rather than a reaction to the work itself) to take a special place in the history of opera becoming what may be the world’s most popular opera buffa.

The Barber of Seville is a feast of frivolous fun. The performance will be sung in English by the 5* opera company of professional singers (several from ENO and ROH) with The Opera Brava Chamber Ensemble and piano.

‘Generous helpings of good, clean, fun… speed and lightness of touch are the essence.’ London Evening Standard‘Talent, ability, stage presence and understanding: no shortage of spirit, no lack of heart, the sort of mix that makes for a total theatre evening.’ The Stage
