Award-winning Grinstock Comedy returns to the Festival Theatre this summer, the South East’s longest running independent providers of comedy. Now in their 14th year, and twice nominated for Comedy Club of the South, by Dave TV and Absolute radio. You are always guaranteed a show packed full of some of the country’s leading comedians from the TV and UK National circuit.

A fantastic night of comedy is in store, as we return for the first of two amazing nights of live stand-up comedy at the truly stunning outdoor stage of Hever Festival Theatre this summer.

The setting is breath takingly beautiful. Take a British Summer night, the stunning castle gardens of the former home of Anne Boleyn, set in the heart of Kent and the garden of England, and sprinkle it with 5 UK leading comedians. Russel’s first gig was at the notorious King Gong at the Manchester Comedy Store. He went on to win it and then followed it up later that year with a semi-final appearance in the Manchester Comedian of The Year Competition. 

Now residing in London, Russell is regularly popping up at prestigious clubs such as Top Secret & Up The Creek, as well as sharing the stage with acts such as Joe Lycett, Sean Walsh and even the chatty man himself Alan Carr. 

In 2018 Russell made his Edinburgh Fringe debut with his critically acclaimed show ‘The Curious Incidents Of The Gay In The Night Time’. Since then, Russell has gone on to perform at festivals all over the country including Leicester, Nottingham, Manchester & Brighton. He even appeared on the Glee Cardiff Pride Stage alongside Robert White in 2019. 

Russell has got quite a following on the LGBT scene of London & Manchester, with his on-point observations and topical humour.

Katherine Kenway is a regular on the comedy circuit, delighting audiences with her jokes on being a lazy mum.  She has a sardonic view on life and is like your slightly scary straight-talking best friend, but with punchlines. 

Early in 2020 Katherine was a finalist in the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year, as well as being selected to take part in the AAA showcase at the Gilded Balloon for the whole run of the Edinburgh Fringe 2020 (postponed until 2022).

Multi Award-winning Irish Iranian comedian 

Award winning Iranian-Irish stand-up comedian Patrick Monahan has performed all over the world, including Dubai, Australia, New York, Norway, and almost every town and city in Britain. As seen recently on BBC One’s The One Show, Loose Women, Asian Network (BBC). 

In a world of groups, hierarchies and class systems, everyone’s trying hard to fit in. What’s wrong with, being you? Be you, be proud! From the caravan to the middle-class neighbourhood, it’s taken Patrick Monahan four decades to realise this. 

With a family-friendly fanbase, his shows cover topics such as class, family, relationships and his hilarious observations of daily life. He has performed over sixteen solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival over consecutive years, which have then toured to sell-out crowds, both nationally and internationally. 

Patrick has recorded four solo comedy specials, released online and on DVD. He has made multiple television appearances on BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky. He was also the winner of two ITV competition series, Take the Mike and Show Me the Funny.

Scottish comedian and impressionist, Geoff Boyz “has established himself as one of the most versatile comedians on the circuit” – ID Magazine 

Geoff first made his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe back in the 90’s where he hosted Best of Scottish Comedy. He followed that up with his solo stand-up show, Why? and Noises and Other Announcements, which were both a huge hit. Since then, he has continued to be in high demand on the stand-up and corporate circuits. In recent years, Geoff has toured in Australia, playing in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. He was one of the first comedians to perform in China, and has also played in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai as well as, Parker’s Comedy & Jive in South Africa. When he’s not travelling the world or playing up and down the UK, Geoff performs on cruise ships in front of thousands of people. 

Geoff has worked widely across TV. He was the face of various TV commercials, such as Tennent’s Larger. He’s also worked as a stand-up and studio host for shows including Dead Ringers, This Morning, They Think It’s All Over, Truth or Dare and Live at the Comedy Store, and also performed on Live At Jongleurs and Talking Telephone Numbers. He also voiced the character of Kickstart The Dog in the pilot animation TV series, Ogri. On radio he has appeared on shows such as The Live Stand Up Showand Fantastic Voyage as well as Colin (BBC Radio 2), which he also co-wrote.

Two Sisters’ Theatre

Our main theatre, located on the Two Sisters’ Lawn has allocated, covered seating in the Centre, East and West Tiers. There is additional uncovered seating in the Centre Tier.

The Theatre Bar will be open on the theatre lawn before the show and during the interval for hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ice cream and snacks.
