Nightingale, A New Ballet
New Creations Collective
Thurs 10 Aug 7.30pm
The Loggia, Italian Garden

New Creations Collective is delighted to be bringing their brand-new ballet based on the life and works of Florence Nightingale to Hever Festival Theatre, on The Loggia in the stunning Italian Garden.
You know the legend, but how much do you really know about the lady behind the lamp?
From her childhood surrounded by family, to finding her profession as a nurse, Florence Nightingale’s life was marked by monumental achievements and extraordinary events. From her formative years at Scutari Hospital, to becoming the first woman in history to receive an order of Merit from King Edward and opening the first ever school for nurses… this is a woman whose story is worth telling!
Get to know Florence like never before through this original production celebrating the world-changing achievements of a female national hero. Narrated extracts from Florence’s personal diaries bring her story to life through her own words, alongside a brand-new score, original choreography, evocative set and costumes. Performed by an accomplished cast of dancers and musicians, this high-quality, original ballet is guaranteed to be a hope-inspiring informative experience for adults and children alike.
Building on the success of NCC’s 2021 and 2022 performance of The Secret Garden, the team are back together with another sublime original score by Adam Kornas and authentic choreography by Nina Monteiro.
New Creations Collective is a Kent-based dance company, using classical and contemporary artforms to tell timeless, hope-inspiring stories. The company aims to push the boundaries of typically theatrical artforms by creating work that is highly accessible and can be performed outside of the theatre. We bring the show to the people!

Running Time: 60mins+
The performance is suitable for all ages although we do have a gentle recommendation in place of 8+ due to the exploration of more mature themes such as war.
