Dining at Hever 

PICNICS 

We delight in seeing your elegant array of picnics on theatre evenings. Each castle site provides a selection of idyllic settings and you are welcome to picnic before evening (from 6.30pm), and after matinée performances (until the castle closes at 6pm). If you are attending an event on the Hever Castle Main Lawn, The Loggia or Anne Boleyn’s Walk you are welcome to picnic during the performance too. All we ask is that you help us to be as sustainable as possible by taking your rubbish home with you.

DINING OPTIONS 

We are thrilled to be working with the new, all-in-house, Hever Castle Catering team, offering our guests delicious menus that make use of the best local and UK produce available.

CATERING FOR HEVER FESTIVAL FRIENDS

Hever Castle Catering are offering a generous 10% discount  to Festival Friends, and their guests (when tickets are purchased by the Festival Friend) off the cost of pre-booked suppers and teas. Please note the discount does not apply to the beverages that can be purchased at the event.

If you do not already take advantage of the discounts  Hever Festival Theatre Friends Membership can be purchased at any time and starts from £29. With theatre and catering discounts, a membership quickly pays for itself, and you can share the discounts with your friends too. Please feel free to discuss it with the Box Office team, we can (retrospectively if necessarily) add your membership and do the calculations for you too.

PRE-THEATRE SUPPER

Situated in the Italian Gardens next to the walled Rose Garden, the Guthrie Pavilion offers picturesque surroundings to begin your evening at the Theatre. Pre-theatre suppers can be enjoyed inside the elegant dining area, or outside on the paved terrace, both offering views of the lake, before our evening performances.

The set menu cost £29.65 (£27.05 for Festival Friends and their guests). Your advance payment is for food only, with drinks available to be purchased with your meal.

For our 8pm performances, you can arrive between 6pm and 6.30pm, and your meal will be served approximately 30 minutes post arrival. For 7.30pm shows, we ask that you arrive at 6pm, the performance waits for no man, or pudding!

AFTERNOON TEA

Situated in the Italian Gardens next to the walled Rose Garden, Afternoon Tea is served in the Guthrie Pavilion following the matinee play performances and must be booked in advance.  Thes set menu cost £24.75 (£22.55 for Festival Friends and their guests). Afternoon tea will be served in The Guthrie Pavilion once the performance finishes and can be enjoyed inside the elegant dining area, or outside on the paved terrace, both offering views of the lake.

PLEASE NOTE

Pre-theatre supper and Afternoon Tea tickets will be taken off sale when the restaurant is full, or 1 week before the event. Please make sure you book in advance so you are not disappointed.

Hever Castle and Golf Club members do not receive a discount on Pre-Theatre Suppers or Afternoon Tea.

If you wish to inform the catering team of any dietary requirements, please email catering@hevercastle.co.uk. Unfortunately, it may not be possible to cater for dietary requirements without reasonable advanced notice.

If you have purchased your theatre tickets already and you wish to purchase Pre-Theatre Supper or Afternoon Tea please call the box office and we will take payment for your food and update your tickets 07379 488 477. If you are yet to purchase your tickets then you can choose one of the joint catering and theatre ticket choices online, or when you talk to us by phone.

REFRESHMENTS ON THE THEATRE LAWN 

Pre- show and interval refreshments will be available on the theatre Lawn for all Two Sisters’ Theatre and Anne Boleyn’s Walk performances. As well as serving hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ice cream, hot sausage rolls and Cornish pasties we are going to be treated to the return of freshly made savoury and sweet crepes on the theatre lawn in 2025.

Please note; plant based ice cream and hot vegetarian options are available but no other dietary requirements can be catered for on the lawn.
